Altus was known originally as Altus Learning has renamed the company Altus365 to emphasize their enterprise perpetual content and knowledge management and marketing capabilities. Furthermore, they have also launched their new platform vSearchCloud vSearch which is an evolution of their solution to utilize the cloud for unlimited scalable storage and delivery of multimedia content with their extremely powerful search capabilities. It also is a shift actually away from a platform approach to more of an application approach. They’ll still have the platform but vSearchCloud will sit on top of the platform and be called by web services which make it also possible for other platforms to integrate the application in their systems.
“With this new approach, customers will be able to take rich media from any source social media, events, sales meetings, web sites, distance learning, etc. and make that content available to anyone in one environment but with access from any device on-demand; from PCs to smart phones and tablets,” explained Tim Hughan, Director of Marketing at Altus 365. “For example, you could be in Salesforce CRM and search your content repository right from Salesforce yet you are accessing it seamlessly through the vSearchCloud application. We don’t want to be another silo in the corporate content world.”

The new version also has tremendous flexibility with regard to look and feel and user interface. Though there is a new design, the concept is more one of building what it is that the client needs from a UI standpoint versus pick one of several templates. You could essentially recreate your own web site as a UI and integrate all of the rich media content within that environment.
According to IDC, rich media and video content is estimated to increase 44 times to 35 trillion gigabytes by 2020. The vSearchCloud platform enables enterprises, to access and derive business intelligence from this content. As with their existing platform, vSearchCloud is able to intake content in any format, from PowerPoint, text transcripts, web conferencing and video to a wide array of audio sources. The content is then fully searchable and accessible at the point of interest, down to very specific keywords or even recommended content.

What is also interesting here is that now enterprise social networks like Jive or QUAD for example, can be the host platform where vSearchCloud is the content delivery engine for virtual, hybrid events and training and learning for that matter.
vSearchCloud also comes with robust analytics, data sharing, dashboards and comprehensive usage tracking, allowing producers to extend and monetize their business intelligence while achieving ROI through potentially substantial productivity gains, cost savings and revenue generation.
Altus365 is already working with companies such as Cisco, GM, IBM, NetApp, Oracle, RIM and VMware is actually using the new platform this month for a product launch program.

Thanks very much Michael for the great article–much appreciated! I just wanted to make one point of clarification–vSearchCloud is not a “shift away from a platform approach,” but actually the full realization of a true platform on which custom rich-media apps can easily be built for specific purposes and audience experiences, including virtual events, hybrid events, sales enablement, partner training, etc. Sorry for any confusion on platform vs. apps architecture. Thanks again!
Got it Ted, thanks for the clarification.
