After a quick demo, we built out a virtual environment…well we built out something using all of the features as a test and did it in the course of just a few hours. For the sessions we embedded a couple of VES sessions from youtube and since we didn’t have a live stream we set up a test stream fro ustream and embedded that for a while. Extremely intuitive and easy to do.
We integrated our Linkedin profile to our account page with a simple log in to Linkedin and set up of Twitter around the environment was just as easy. Building out a booth was simple as well although we just stuck random images, document and videos in without any thought of making it an actual coordinated marketing tool.
InfoNeedle started out building a social network tool and they have kept the functionality in the current platform. Adding an RSS feed for our blog postings was simple as was creating discussion forums.
Search across the environment was very good for documents and blog posts but searches of content didn’t appear to bring us the results we expected. That was until we corrected our spelling!
All of the images in the backgrounds are easily changed out so you can customize the look and feel as you choose and most allow for mouse over hot spot for additional navigation.
Ecommerce is built in as is registration. What I especially like is the ability to make some content free and other paid. And when we tested, Google had already indexed the content which is very exciting as it shows how you can SEO non paid content while still offering additional paid options.
It seems to work just fine on all of the mobile devices we have tested.
Pricing is very straight forward with a cost per user per month that goes down the more you use the environment. With their free-until-launch model, there is no reason to not try it out.
