Webcasting and virtual events solution provider ON24 has acquired IMASTE, a European provider of virtual events, 3D online environments and virtual tradeshows, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition announced today will help ON24 to increase its growth and presence in Europe and Latin America while enhancing company’s portfolio of virtual communication solutions and services.
“Our Fortune 1000 clients will benefit from the stronger local support made possible by our acquisition of an EMEA powerhouse. In addition, this merger further consolidates ON24’s lead in the global marketplace and provides IMASTE customers with access to ON24’s world-class virtual communications solutions.” said ON24 CEO Sharat Sharan.
IMASTE was founded in 2003 by Aitor Zabala, Miguel Arias, and Miguel Fernández Lapique. More than 200 customers rely on IMASTE’s virtual event services to power their virtual events across Spain, Europe, and the World. They have worked with the likes of MonsterUK, Curriculum.br, Deloitte, Accenture, The Economist, British Council, Top Language Jobs, and Renault.
“This merger of two leaders in the virtual events space will result in a single, dominant global virtual events and webcasting company that will serve customers more effectively and efficiently,” Miguel Arias, IMASTE co-founder and CTO.
IMASTE is based in Madrid, Spain. ON24 is based in San Francisco, Calif.

Hello,
I would like to know why a company like Imaste was bought by On24. knowing that Imaste is leader in Europe.
Thank you
Because IMASTE has a great platform and has much opportunity in the US where they have little awareness and because ON24 can use IMASTE’s success in Europe to further capitalize on the opportunity for European sales.
